Every year, ten million people worldwide die of cancer. Discovering the mechanisms underlying these diseases is crucial, but doctors often do not have the time to research these issues and advocate for solutions.
We want to help with that.
Who we are
Carroll CAncer REsearch Students (Carroll CARES) provides students with a way to help physicians and hospitals gain insights into patient care and cancer management while also connecting students with research opportunities.
By joining Carroll CARES, students can:
- study patients’ journeys to provide information about underlying mechanisms of cancers and their treatments
- work with doctors and health officials for the better of the hospital
- work with other students in a friendly team setting
- learn about cancers, current treatments, and how hospitals work
- gain research experience and work skills necessary for almost any career
- present their findings at medical conference
- add to their portfolios and stand out to top colleges
